Ben Nevis Distillery located in Fort William is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, situated close to the foothills of the highest mountain in Britain Ben Nevis, the distillery is among some of Scotland’s finest scenery.
The visitor centre at the distillery is located in an old warehouse that was in use from the 1860’s, the centre still has some of the original features from this era and is well equipped with a coffee shop and gift shop. At the start of a tour you learn all about the history of the Ben Nevis Distillery from a mythical giant named Hector McDram, who features in a short but informative visual presentation. Following the presentation you are taken around the distillery for very a detailed and enjoyable tour, the tour concludes with a complimentary tasting session in the gift shop.
Prices for the tour are only £5 for an adult and £2.50 for children under 18, groups of over 15 pay £4.50 each, you can book a more in depth tour that includes several tastings in the board room for £30, but booking this requires at least 24 hours notice.
