Make Yourself at Home in The Home of Golf
Scotland is the perfect choice for a golfing destination, with over 550 golf courses and jaw-dropping scenery. But where to stay during your Scottish golfing holiday? Self-catering can help you to really make the most of the great golf on offer – here are just a few reasons to stay in a home-from-home in The Home of Golf.
Mealtimes that suit you
Want to catch the early ‘birdie’? A holiday cottage gives you the freedom and flexibility to tee off first thing in the morning or play late into the stretched out summer evenings without worrying about fixed mealtimes. You can enjoy your holiday at your own pace, eating breakfast and dinner at a time that suits you.
Room for you and your clubs
A local holiday cottage has all the space you need to store your clubs and golfing equipment. If you get caught in a shower during your game, you’ll have ample space to dry your equipment so it’s ready for the next day. (And if you and your golfing party are more ‘fair-weather’ golfers, there’s plenty of room for you to relax, with all the comforts of home, until the weather changes!).
Value for money
Self-catering offers you a great value for money holiday and can help to keep the cost of your Scottish golfing trip down. There are holiday cottages to suit every budget, whether you’re searching for a small cottage for two or a large lodge for bigger groups.
Choice
What are your requirements? A holiday home to accommodate a large group of golfers? Somewhere with WiFi access? A cottage on the coast near one of Scotland’s links courses or overlooking the Old Course at St Andrews? Whatever your requirements, you are sure to find a holiday cottage that’s perfect for your dream golfing holiday. You could even choose a lodge or cottage with a hot tub or a Jacuzzi bath to really relax tired legs after a day’s golf!
Whether you want to golf in Scotland’s more remote corners or play its world-famous courses, you can find local holiday cottages across the country ideally located for fabulous golf, from the Highlands and Islands to the Scottish Borders. Your holiday home can be a great base for discovering the different courses nearby and help you to really get to know the local area. So this year, why not make yourself at home in The Home of Golf?

We own a two-bedroomed self-catering cottage in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway, close to a number of excellent golf courses, including Southerness, Colvend, and, of course, Dalbeattie! We also provide the catering at Dalbeattie Golf Club, and so can offer our guests substantially reduced green fees when playing the lovely 9 hole course, as well as complimentary coffees when you eat with us!
